Wishlist Wednesday - Tassie Style

This week I thought I'd dedicate my Wishlist to some really talented Tasmanian designers. Most of the ones I've chosen for this particular list are lovely people who I know in real life, either friends or other marketeers. Some have blogs and etsy stores too (although a few aren't currently stocked).

First up is Poppylane. We shared our first market experience together back in March at the Beach Market. She is so lovely and has such sweet wares: purses, softies, journal covers... Her blog is here and her store here.

Sarah Elliott is a fabulous fashion designer. Gorgeous dresses and accessories like hairclips and silk flower brooches. We've been good friends since we were 10 years old! Her website is here.

Zando (otherwise known as Zoe) has a wonderfully diverse range from these gorgeous lanterns to bibs, cards and badges. I haven't seen these lanterns yet but am looking forward to seeing them at the market this Sunday. Some are of Tasmanian iconic buildings. Funnily enough I've known Zoe since I was about 15 through Sarah. Blog here and store here.
Little Snoring makes sweet little pandas, cushions made of gorgeous fabrics and beautiful jewellery. She is also a fellow marketeer and will also be starring this week at the market. Blog here and store here.
The Purple Finch is based up in Launceston and makes wonderfully cute and unique softies and also bags and scarves. I haven't met her yet but it's bound to happen at a market sometime soon. Her blog is here and her store is here.
Owlet makes super cute children's clothing and accessories. I wish one of my friends would hurry up and have another baby so I can buy something goregous from her! She had a stall next to me at the last market and we only then realised that we'd met before at kids birthday parties! Her lovely blog is here and store is here. She'll be at the market on Sunday too.
Magoolie Designs also has some diverse talents. Lovely ceramics, felted jewellery and accessories and dolls. We have both had stalls at the market and she is the organiser of The Beach Market. Blog here and store here.
Cartwheel Creations is another fellow marketeer and Etsian. Gorgeous bags, hair clips and baby clothing using beautiful Japanese fabrics. Her store is here (albeit empty). She's currently expecting twins - wheeeee!

This Fortnight at Under the Shade of a Bonsai Tree:

Doing:
Having my good friend Clair come to stay for a few days. She now lives in Scotland and I hadn't seen her for over 3 years so the time was spent catching up, laughing and having fun. We went to a few good cafes/restaurants/bars. Sad to see her go.

Coping with the absence of the internet. There was a problem with the phone exchange which has meant no internet nor home phone. It was on and off for the last 2 weeks. Amazing and scary how much one relies on it - from my monthly schedule which I post online, recipes I wanted to access, shopping for supplies for my jewellery and my online weekly fruit and veg order.

Drawing my Facebook comp. Rebecca from Blinking Flights won!

Watching: Barfuss (German film) and Slumdog Millionaire (again)

Listening to: The Bone Rattlers. Great local psychobilly band. We went to the album launch on Friday night.
Looking Forward to: trip to Europe in a few weeks!!!

Reading: Just finished The Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon which I thoroughly enjoyed. Now reading The Hundred Secret Senses by Amy Tan. So far so good.

Buying: These beautiful cards from Stephanie Levy

Bonza Bonsai!

I just wanted to mention my fabulous little bonsai tree again that I purchased from Spanish Etsy seller Intres. It's a little red one which can be spotted in this post. I use it as a little prop for my market stall and have all my groovy mini moo business cards underneath it. It made it's first appearance last weekend and people were continuously commenting on how very fabulous it is.
Intres has also blogged about the well travelled bonsai here.

Collage of more items from Intres store.

Market Merriment

I had such a great time at the market yesterday. I sold a lot and got lashings of lovely feedback which is always fabulous. There was a great mix of sellers as usual and this time I was lucky enough to sit next to Owlet and it was wonderful to finally do a market with my good friend Sarah Elliott.
Check here for more great photos from the market.

I'll be back for the October market and am already looking forward to it.
